AOK (Any Other Kingdom) began in 2020, right after Annie graduated during the pandemic. With so much time on her hands and an urge to create, she decided to teach herself how to make silver jewellery. Through years of trial and error, she honed her skills and developed a distinctive aesthetic that resonated with others. With formal training now under her belt, AOK continues to experiment, refine, and push the boundaries of it's creativity.
Annie draws much of her inspiration from dreams, both the ones she experiences at night and the daydreams that fill her mind. She envisions stunning landscapes, and the works of Friedrich Hundertwasser, particularly his belief that "the straight line is godless," have deeply resonated with her. While nature and the female form influence Annie’s art, she sees jewellery design as a separate form with its own distinct goals. The aesthetic direction of her work is deeply rooted in nature, but her jewellery designs come from a more philosophical place. Her artwork often challenges the modern world- mass consumerism, digital dependence- and in her jewellery, Annie aims to capture what remains when all the distractions are stripped away: nature and the physical body. While both art and jewellery share the same introspective origin, they serve different purposes and express different ideas.
She is committed to supporting a circular economy by using recycled metals in every project, ensuring the materials can be recycled infinitely. AOK also offers fair mined gold and sources ethical gemstones, along with using synthetic gemstones. Annie designs with longevity in mind, creating pieces that are built to last, not fall victim to a disposable culture.
